The Spring/Summer 16 lineup from Hermès springs from the reference of “graphic and poetic vitality.”
Véronique Nichanian’s collection for this season is infused with luminous colours and sophisticated silhouettes. The graphic element shone through a swirling splashed ink motif in print across several jackets, causing a lively ripple of movement through the lineup, which was joined by striped prints and more graphic swirls.
Elsewhere, hooded sweatshirts, reversible jackets and collarless shirts felt relaxed yet sophisticated. Combinations of brick and tomato reds, sport blue and mint green infused colour into a soft base of chalk, pewter and navy. Nichanian carved many of the season's trends into the collection, including featherweight tailoring, a separates approach to dressing and details inspired from the adventurer such as utility pockets. For accessories, open sandals continued with the relaxed feeling and enhanced the summery air.
