Marking his first ready-to-wear collection for Maison Margiela, John Galliano injected the Autumn/Winter
15 line-up with his signature brand of quirk for the new season. Following the debut of his first artisanal couture collection for the house in January, Galliano offered up a range of wearable and attainable pieces at the Paris Fashion Week show on Saturday.
Margiela's vintage vibes were present, and given the Galliano twist with romantic silhouettes and delicate bias cuts. It was a triumphant return to the ready-to-wear stage, and despite the deafening applause and the photographers chanting "John, John, John!" Mr. Galliano did not come out from behind the curtain to make his bow.
Instead, the Gibraltar-born British fashion designer let his creations take the credit, with a fun, energetic, yet approachable collection walking the finale.
