Carven's identity, having been revived by Guillaume Henry, is continuing to prove consistent and delightful with the Autumn/Winter 15 lineup from the new duo of creatives at the helm – Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud: "For us it was really important to get the attitude right," said the pair backstage. "Fresh, young, more active, miniskirts, classical, elegant," they explained was their thought process behind the fresh new collection.
Skinny cropped trousers and mini skirts worn with various jackets and coats summed up their focus on separates: "She's not afraid to mix it altogether," they said of the Carven girl for whom the collection was designed. It was part prim, part kooky with belted tunics worn over sheer long sleeves, which gave a sort of back-to-school feel.
Chinsey florals adorned fluffy coats and skirts and the palette darted from powdery hues to bold blues and bright oranges. Shearling collars added texture to some of the coats and a disc motif necklace was worn on many of the looks, in a move that some might say indicated more to come in the way of accessories from the increasingly popular label.
