New shoes? Aside from her famous family on the front row, of course, it a sharp, capsule edit of footwear that was the big story of big-hearted Victoria Beckham's Spring/Summer 15 collection in New York today. It seems that shoes is going to be joining the brand's incredibly successful, yet simple, accessory categories of bags and opticals.
As for the garments, the show opened full of utility chic in the form of sleek safari tops and belted camel coats, along with oversized, long knits worn over striped skirts.
There was also the classic monochrome palette with flashes of colour and precision tailoring, and florals for the first time too, in the prettiest pinks, plus the odd experimental jumpsuit silhouette...
It was all a long, long way from Victoria's very first collection of dresses back in 2005 – and the influence of her previously referenced inspiration brands such as Celine and Jil Sander is becoming very apparent indeed.
