Jeremy Scott livens things up once again, following on from his debut collection last season full of McDonalds dedications, this times it's Barbie's turn to get a breath of new, fashionable life.
Huge bouncy hair and an almost plastic sheen on skin dominated the beauty news on the Moschino runway this season, thanks to the Spring/Summer 15 collection inspiration of one special woman: Barbie. And isn't she just the girl of the moment?
The clothes this time around were just as outlandish as last season's tribute to McDonald's and Spongebob, and in fact one model shot down the runway on roller skates, just to authenticate things, but somehow this all seemed more wearable – yes, there was much bubblegum pink and more than one or two oversized bows, but it's brazen, outlandish style is perhaps instantly iconic. Also as last year, some of the collection is available to buy online already in the brand's 'fast fashion' concept, via Moschino.com.
The crowd were thrilled, and the short collection had the charm of signature, Italian, over-the-top style like a modern day 80s Versace.
The final look was a sci-fi creation with what seems to be a kind of futuristic wingspan (pink, of course), soon to be seen on a VMA red carpet soon, we suspect.
