Apple to launch iWatch alongside iPhone 6 on September 9
Apple's eagerly anticipated and much-talked about iWatch could be introduced to the public sooner than expected, after reports have surfaced that the device will debut at the September 9 event, alongside the two next-generation iPhones.
A report from Recode suggests that Apple's long awaited first piece of wearable tech – the iWatch – will be unveiled sooner than expected, at the September 9 event, which was confirmed earlier this month for the iPhone launch date. The report also reveals that the device will be fully integrated with Apple's health tracking tools and home automation system HomeKit – both of which, are expected to be new features of iOS 8.
The Healthbook app – as many already know – will serve as a tool to monitor heart rate, hydration, blood pressure, sugar and oxygen levels and many other health related elements. Less is known about the HomeKit app, but it has been hinted by Apple that the platform will provide your iPhone – or, indeed, iWatch – with the power to open garage doors, security cameras, home lights, and other home/lifestyle devices.
It's important to note that Apple are yet to distribute the September 9 invitations – so the news of the iWatch x iPhone 6 dual launch is not officially "official" just yet. Fingers crossed the grand reveal is only a little under two weeks away.
