Hermès and Pilot create a capless pen collection
The French fashion house has collaborated with an Australian industrial designer and Japanese pen manufacturer, Pilot, to launch the slick Nautilus pen set
Developed by Pilot for Hermès, the carefully designed writing tool is actually a capless pen conceptualized by Aussie Marc Newson.
The Nautilus fountain pen is shaped out of aluminum and stainless steel. Fitted with a rhodium-plated white gold nib, the pen – which took three years to perfect – is available in six nib widths.
The Nautilus also comes with black and carbon blue ink cartridges, in addition to Hermès' signature colors of H red, ebony and blood orange.
Newson stated, "This is the most complex object you could hope to design from an industrial design perspective."
