Coco Chanel: A New Portrait by Marion Pike, Paris 1967-71

In September, the London College of Fashion will host an exhibition of portraits of Coco Chanel made by her friend - a California artist Marion Pike.

Pike first met Mademoiselle Chanel in 1967, 4 years before her death. Soon after meeting the artist asked the permission of Chanel to paint her portrait. It turned out great and colorful Marion Pike was a great colorist.

During the exhibition, along with five portraits of Chanel will feature some of her dresses, which over the years were Marion Pike and her daughter Jeffy Pike Durham. The exhibition will run until November 16 at the Fashion Space Gallery, 20 John Princes Street, London, W1G 0BJ.
