The fashion house Hermès and Japanese brand Comme des Garcons, in November announced their collaboration, presented the result of teamwork - a capsule collection of shawls called Comme des Carrés.The following month, the French luxury brand, which recently celebrated its 175th anniversary, will release eight scarves, design of which involved Rei Kawakubo.The collection contains elements that are specific to each of the brands - the cult peas, dark lines and the famous motto of Comme des Garcons "live free with strong will", as well as traditional prints Hermès Thalassa and Pegasus. It will be on sale in a limited edition of 1600 copies.
The Comme Des Carrés collection comes in two parts, with the ‘Black and White’ collection available in Comme des Garcons stores in Paris (6th Feb), New York (7th Feb) and Tokyo (8th Feb), and the Ginza Dover Street Market store (also 8th Feb). The busier ‘Colour’ scarves will be available from Dover Street Market in London (12th Feb) and Tokyo. Is that clear as mud?
