Au Revoir à Mademoiselle

French feminists have made to the government abolished the appeal "Mademoiselle." As a result, today, in any document in French, you will not see this beautiful word.  How revolutionary is the solution, we do not know. I do not support this and a style icon such as Gabrielle Chanel, will remain in our hearts as was Mademoiselle.
France is bidding adieu to the term ‘mademoiselle’ – on the grounds that it is ‘sexist’. The Gallic equivalent of ‘Miss’ will be abolished from all Government documents because it suggests that a woman is available. Prime minister Francois Fillon has also banned the phrase ‘nom de jeune fille’, meaning ‘maiden name’, from official paperwork because it is ‘archaic’ and has ‘connotations of virginity’. To the delight of feminist campaigners, an order issued to all ministries and regional authorities on Tuesday said ‘mademoiselle’ must be replaced with ‘madame’ and should be not interpreted as an indication of marital status.

Giorgio Armani's One Plus One

Giorgio Armani is “One plus One”, the film-fashion project resulting from the collaboration between Giorgio Armani and film director Luca Guadagnino.  Directed by I Am Love helmer Luca Guadagnino. The 3-minute film is a moving illustration of the Giorgio Armani 2012 Spring/Summer Collection – stunning collection. Filmed in Mantua and Cremona – Lombardy locations dear to the designer – it is the story of a suspenseful and unsettling love triangle, told through the tension that develops between the space and the silhouette of a woman and two finely dressed men. The photography of Yorick le Saux recreates the simultaneously bright and sedate colours of Renaissance Italian painting yet in a contemporary key.The interior scenes are filmed in the Museo del Violino in Cremona, a masterpiece of Lombardy rationalist architecture.
“Today, fashion needs to open itself to new languages,” says Giorgio Armani. “Cinema is the form of expression I have always felt the closest to. Working with Luca Guadagnino, I have had the opportunity to transform the atmosphere of my collection into a story, and it has been a stimulating experience.”

Kate Moss for Vogue Japan April 2012

Here’s Kate Moss on the cover of Vogue Japan’s April 2012 issue lensed by Mert and Marcus , wearing the same dress she wore to close the spring 2012 Louis Vuitton show. From the dress to the styling, the looks are so similar that it prompted the Fashion Spot to speculate that the glossy shot her backstage at the show for this cover.
We don’t yet have any details about the stylist, but it sure looks like someone just grabbed her after the show and said, “Hey Kate, go stand by that wall so we can take your picture.” Also, is it supposed to be yellow? Hopefully all these questions will be answered soon. Regardless, it’s one of the best looks to come out of the spring shows
